Kent has been involved in theatre since high school, acting, singing, and dancing in productions, and singing in choirs throughout San Luis Obispo County. He is currently a Board member of the Project Theatre Foundation. Kent has been involved with the Paderewski Festival and the Class Act Dance Studio's production of the "Nutcracker" since their inceptions. He has been a past Board member for Pioneer Players and "Royalty Chairman" for the Atascadero Colony Days Board of Directors. He also volunteers with the North County Food Bank and Hospice of San Luis Obispo, the El Camino Homeless Shelter, and the Central Coast Wine Classic. He works with the New World Baroque Orchestra for the annual presentation of Handel's Messiah as well as playing hand chimes and singing in the adult choir of the Community Church of Atascadero.
