Events About Us Home

We represent a collaborative working to showcase cultural activities and raise funds to build a community theatre on the northern campus of Cuesta College. The Project Theatre Foundation's board of directors are all volunteers and the monies received from fund raisers and donations go toward the building fund. Donations, volunteers and grant writers are needed to move this project forward. The North County's population is estimated at 100,000. The Foundation is looking for residents that share our enthusiasm for a theatre arts complex, to provide a showcase for theatre and art, and to encourage awareness and opportunity in the arts for the entire community. If you are interested in sharing our vision to build a north county theatre at the Cuesta College north campus as a venue for the performing arts please call Joyce at 805-440-7173 to join forces with our collaborative. MISSION STATEMENT: Project Theatre represents the coming together of the Northern San Luis Obispo performing and visual arts community. As a collaborative group we are dedicated to meeting the need for a theatre arts complex in the north county. We propose a facility designed to blend with the topography, speak to the persona of Northern San Luis Obispo County, and provide a showcase for theatre and the arts.
In support of our purpose, we are committed to accessibility to everyone interested, variety in programming, and support in the development of the visual and performing arts.

The arts have sung to us through the ages like a great orchestra, inspiring us with a deep appreciation of form, sound, color, and vitality, sending our souls soaring. All Art is an offering of humankind, all the more beautiful because it is inspired by God, and executed by man.
When I founded the Project Theatre several years ago with a group of wonderful people involved with the performing and visual arts, it was soon after Paso Robles began to experience sizable growth. The jewel of the Central Coast had been found, and did not have a theatre! It was then I determined that the wealth of talent in all of North County be a part of that growth.
Envision a theatre complex that is both performer and audience friendly with an art gallery, museum, and flexibility to accommodate all forms of the arts coupled with education and available to the community. Applying the unique concept of a privately funded theatre for the community, we will reach out for support from all who share the thought. The Arts are as necessary as the air we breathe.
The Project Theatre Foundation has proceeded steadily, carefully, and slowly with the kindness and encouragement of a wonderful lady, Berna Dallons and the Cuesta College staff. Mr. Fred Sweeney of Phillips, Metsch, Sweeney and Moore designed a beautiful and inviting theatre complex. A showcase for all the arts is needed and Mr. Sweeney's artful accomplishment would be worthy of community pride.
We all have respect for the past and a responsibility to the future of the many young artists of tomorrow....The Project Theatre Foundation is a nonprofit organization, completely staffed by volunteers who are dedicated to the mission and concept. Man's talents have no limits, one only needs to be there, to dare, to create! - Katherine Moyers, founder
